French startup Ochy, an AI-powered running gait platform designed to enhance performance and prevent injuries, announces raising €1.7 million in pre-seed funding. The company is also integrating its technology within the adidas adiClub program, allowing members to access Ochy’s biomechanics analysis and personalized insights.
The funding round was led by Redstone‘s Social Impact Fund, with participation from Look AI Ventures, BPI France, Berkeley SkyDeck, and strategic corporate investors, including Agile Physical Therapy. The investment will accelerate the development of Ochy’s computer vision AI, expand its global reach, and further strengthen its community initiatives.
“These key developments bring us closer to our vision of democratizing access to motion analysis and making lab-quality running gait analysis accessible to everyone, everywhere,” says Khaldon Evans, Co-founder and CEO of Ochy. “With our innovative AI solution, a partnership with an iconic global brand like adidas, and the support of forward-thinking investors, we are laying a foundation to help runners achieve their goals and reduce injuries by equipping them—as well as coaches, physios, and running stores—with AI running form analysis technology.”
Ochy is now part of the adidas adiClub program, where members can redeem their points to access Ochy’s advanced biomechanics analysis and personalized recommendations—helping them refine their running technique and reduce the risk of injuries.
“At adiClub, we are committed to empowering our members to perform at their best. We’re excited to partner with Ochy to offer our members exclusive access to their cutting-edge biomechanics analysis. By redeeming their adiClub points, members can try Ochy’s technology through a one-shot offer and enjoy a 3-month access, enhancing their running performance and increasing their engagement with our community,” says Javier Arias, Global Director of Membership Partnerships at adidas.
adidas joins a list of top-tier athletic partners for Ochy, including the French Athletics Federation.
Unlike traditional gait analysis methods, Ochy uses proprietary computer vision AI to assess a runner’s form in real time—using just a smartphone camera. A quick 10-second running video is all it takes to measure key biomechanics like stride length and joint angles, generating personalized analysis and exercise plans to optimize running efficiency and prevent injuries.
The company was founded in 2021 by Khaldon Evans, physical therapist Perrine Chapot, and technical engineer Victor Dequidt. Ochy was inspired by Khaldon’s own journey as an NCAA track athlete at the University of Central Missouri was derailed due to recurring injuries. After struggling with injuries that could have been prevented with accessible gait analysis, he and his co-founders set out to develop a solution to support and empower athletes worldwide.
“I see our investment in Ochy as a game-changing leap for both athletic performance and potentially also rehabilitation. Ochy’s AI-driven platform transforms a mere 10-second video into lab-grade biomechanical insights that dismantle the high-cost, time-intensive model of traditional motion labs,” says Angelo Burgarello, Partner at Look AI Ventures.
“This technology not only helps coaches and runners achieve up to a 60% reduction in injury risk and a 40% performance boost, but it could also potentially empower rehab centers in the near future to leverage deep biomechanical data to create personalized recovery programs and closely monitor patient progress in real time. The strategic integration with adidas adiClub further underscores how Ochy is democratizing expert analysis—making precision insights accessible anytime and anywhere,” adds Angelo.
