PRAGUE, Czech Republic – Networking, funding opportunities, improving pitches, and gaining more visibility are only some of the many benefits of the AI Unicorn Pitches Visegrad event. The pitches were virtually held at the end of March for the most innovative AI startups operating, planning to operate, or having team members in the V4 area. The event was organized in partnership with a Czech early-stage investor AI Startup Incubator and a Ukrainian team at Startup.Network that holds the pitch series.
From the applicants, nine startups passed the down-selection, and the final program consisted of pitches from startups Mollia (HU), Mosaic (CZ), Cerebrica (CZ), Swifttalk (CZ), Emdee.ai (HU), Trackbar (AT), D-Tag Analytics Inc. (HU), Wearfits (PL), and S-Case (SK).
Leaving the best impression of its solution, Austrian FitTech startup Trackbar claims the victory at the regional chapter and continues to the CEE round in April. Slovak MedTech startup S-Case and Czech mapping solution Mosaic placed 2nd and 3rd, respectively, with only a tight score difference.
“Fitness Tech is evolving at an incredible speed at the moment. We saw many great startups pitching, are honored by the jury’s voting, and look forward to the upcoming networking opportunities.”
Stefan Schade, the CEO of Trackbar
The various applications of AI solutions in different industries made judges’ evaluation process challenging. Each startup had only a few minutes to pitch its project to the judges, followed by a short time for Q&As. However, regardless of the final score, AI Unicorn Pitches Visegrad presented a potential investment opportunity to all participants, leaving attendees readily exchange contacts after the event.
“The variety of startups was amazing, covering different industries, being in different phases, but having the common goal of applying AI to all fields of our lives. I really enjoyed being part of this truly international event, along with high-profile judges from all over the world.”
Gernot Singer, board member at the Austrian Angel Investors Association, business angel, and judge at the AI Unicorn Pitches Visegrad
The other judge seats were taken by Angelo Burgarello (AI Startup Incubator), Martin Bodocky (Threshold Capital), Alvin Kersting (Listing Partners Limited), Eike B. Post (Nuclear Block Ventures), Francesco Cracolici (Nomadic Minds), Esra Talu (GoGlobal), Gary Fowler (GSD Venture Studios), Vladimir Stastny (KOOPEO Ventures), Adrian Kondrat (PLUGin Foundation), Gajo Vanka (Business angel), Jan Fura (AI Startup Incubator), Katarzyna Skoneczna (StartUp Hub Poland), Ondra Smykal (AirVentures VC Fund), and Joachim Bressat (Take-off.io).
